A water lily bud brigthens up my day!

After exactly 7 months, the waiting finally ends today. Words just couldn’t describe the feeling of being greeted by this wonderful little bud of Nymphaea sp. or as known as water lily that popped out in the middle of my guppy pond and created a spectacular sight on this Friday morning. ‘Pink’ is the answer! It’s just so beautiful.

The word that my 5 year old son, Ryan, uttered was ‘Wow!‘ as I broke the news to him after we came back from my parents’ place. He didn’t miss the chance of taking a sneak peek at the flower. I’m pretty sure my hubbie would utter the same word as he did, with an additional word of ‘finally’.

The waiting has been worthwhile as I had always thought that the plant would never bear flowers. My hubbie even had the idea of having me replace it with another water plant which I’d objected strongly. All I could say is …patience is the greatest of all virtues.

Please enjoy the snapshots that I have taken this morning.
